Max Wettstein is Captain for JetBlue Airways and has been flying with them for 6 years. Prior to becoming an airline pilot, Max served 10 years as a navy officer and pilot, flying the carrier based E-2C Hawkeye while deployed aboard the aircraft-carriers USS Carl Vinson and USS Abe Lincoln. Max has always been passionate about fitness and athletics, and pole-vaulted for the University of Colorado Track and Field team. |
While attending C.U. he graduated with a B.A. in Mathematics and completed the R.O.T.C. officer training program, earning his commission.
Max began modeling during his last year of active duty in the navy and has been modeling ever since specializing in fitness and physique images, and has perfected the formula, and realized the commercial value of having less than 6% body fat and a 6-pack set of abs all year long. Maintaining such a high level of fitness is partly due to his fortunate genetics, but mostly due to motivation and self-discipline, landing Max on over 15 different covers of almost every major fitness magazine. Max has always been eager to share his valuable fitness and health knowledge with others and is the resident health and fitness advisor to his fellow pilots at JetBlue. Max also blogs his tips on several fitness websites and mentors other aspiring fitness models as well as folks who are just trying to get healthier and lean.
Max always approaches fitness both personally and to others, from a health-first, vanity-second view point, and emphasizes athletic performance over aesthetics. Max is all-natural, all the time, and views modeling as a fun, creative and artistic outlet. Max lives in Encinitas California with his wife Donna of 13 years, and his 4 year old daughter Bryce, who is an up-and-comer surfer and skater. Just for fun, Max loves any physical activity outdoors with his family, but when he is not flying, modeling, writing, or blogging, you will find him surfing, skateboarding, motorcycle riding, trail running, or biking.
Max says: "Optimum health is a lifestyle not a fad. Focus on fitness and your ideal physique will follow."
